When you’re starting a website, one of the first decisions you’ll need to make is what domain name to choose. This can be tricky, especially if you’re new to affiliate marketing. How do you find a domain that’s both relevant to your niche and available? In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of choosing a great domain name for your affiliate marketing website.

Why Domain Names Are Important for Your Website?

Your domain name is your website’s address on the internet. It’s how people will find you when they want to learn more about what you do or buy what you’re selling.

Choosing a good domain name is important for two reasons:

– A good domain name can help people remember your website, which makes it more likely they’ll visit again.

– A good domain name can also help your website rank higher in search engines, which makes it more likely people will find you in the first place.

Unfortunately, choosing a good domain name is not always easy. The best domains are usually already taken, and even if you do find one that’s available, it can be hard to know if it’s the right one for your business.

How to Find the Right Domain Name for Your Business

The best domain names are usually short, easy to remember, and relevant to your business.

To come up with good ideas for your domain name, start by thinking about the following:

– What is your business or website about?

– What are the keywords people would use to find your website?

– What are some of the other websites in your industry?

Once you have a few ideas, you can use a domain name checker like Hostinger or Namecheap to see if the domains are available. If they’re not, you can try adding prefixes or suffixes (e.g., “my”, “the”, “online”, “shop”) to see if those are available.

Once you’ve found a few domains that are available and relevant to your business, it’s time to choose the one that’s right for you. Here are a few things to consider:

– How easy is it to remember?

– How easy is it to spell?

– How well does it match the rest of your branding?

– How closely does it match your keywords?

If you’re having trouble choosing between a few domains, try asking people in your target market which one they think is best. You can also use a tool like Google AdWords Keyword Planner.
So, It’s the right time to choose a domain name for your affiliate website. You basically have three options. The first one is an exact match domain name, the second one is a partial match, and the third one is a brandable domain name.

How to Choose a Great Domain Name for Affiliate Marketing Website

Today, I’d like to share some suggestions and advice on how to choose a domain name for an affiliate marketing website after you’ve decided what your website will be about.
So what is the difference between each of them?

Choosing Exact Match Domain (EMD) Name

An exact match domain name means that it’s basically more related to micro-niche websites affiliate marketing when you’re building a very small website with only a few articles, usually around ten or sometimes even less.
This is a dying technique on how to earn money online with affiliate marketing and when it was working really well.
People usually were choosing the exact match domain. So Radia was to choose the main keyword phrase of this website. For example, if the main keyword that you wanted to rank this website would be “how to lose weight”, then you wanted to register a domain “how to lose weight dot com”
The exact match that would match exactly your queue is the main keyword phrase. Then of course you would publish a few other articles on “how to lose weight with exercise”, “how to lose weight at home”, “how to lose weight dieting” and so on.
But the domain name would match exactly the main keyword that you wanted to rank.
Most back in the day a few years ago maybe even a couple of years ago still it was the case. Google was giving quite high priority to this kind of exact match domain names and was ranking them quite well.
Just because they had exactly mashing domain name to the keyword that they were trying to rank for. Now it’s not the case anymore. Google can even penalize some of the websites.
Officially they were claiming that they released an update for their algorithms that would start penalizing exact match domain names in Google searches.
So it’s not either way even if you will not get penalized. It’s still not worth it because it doesn’t give you any kind of boost or anything. It also works in a negative way because it will be quite difficult to promote your website on forums and communities.

Choosing Partial Match Domain (PMD) Name

The second option is a partial match domain name which means the main keyword that you want rightfully. You basically take part of that keyword phrase and add something.
Let’s say another 1second part of your domain name would be something more brandable. As an example, if you’re going to wait for a snitch and your keyword phrase will be ‘how to lose weight or ‘weight loss for people with diabetes’ you could choose weight loss mastery or weight loss Academy or something like this.
That would include ‘weight loss” and help identify for both Google and your visitors what this website is all about. But at the same time, the second part doesn’t exactly match with any of the keyword phrases that you want to rank.
In this way, Google will not penalize you, and this way it will be far easier to promote your website and create a brand around your website.

Choosing Brandable Domain Name

The third option is a brandable domain name. It can be something similar to a partial match domain name because for example ‘weight loss mastery’ can be also quite brandable as a perfect example of a purely brandable domain name.
I can give you avocados calmly, it’s spelled like avocado. But with you at the end instead of these guys as if I’m not mistaken their website is all about fitness or yoga.
There is not much in common with avocado. Don’t think maybe yoga people eat like people who do yoga eat more avocados. You can come up with something absolutely even not related to your niche, but it doesn’t have to mislead your visitors.
For example, if your niche is going to be about fitness you can’t really name your website as I know a ‘purple carpet calm’. Because people will think your website is about carpets. It’s not so, it will be quite misleading and it will work against you.
A couple of things you have to consider when you’re choosing a domain name I really highly recommend for dot com domains, not dot net, not org, or not any other ones.
It just looks professional yet simple and it will not create any kind of mixed perception of your visitors and people on the Internet. We’re in the policy in the community where you will be trying to promote your website.

Another thing to consider is it’s better to avoid any kind of hyphens, symbols, or even numbers in your domain name. It just sometimes works really well for you and creates an even more unique brand name.
But especially when you also don’t have a lot of experience. There is a chance that it will work against you and it will not look as solid and decent as you expect.
It to be now I know from my personal experience that choosing a domain name can be quite a time-consuming if you feel stuck and you just run out of ideas about what your domain name for your new website can be and you’re not happy with those ideas that you came up with already there are two tools that I’m using for myself in this kind of situations that helped me to generate some fresh ideas.
I come up with a domain name for my new website the first tool is the Shopify business name generator.
You can just google search Shopify business name generator and there will be probably a top result with a link to that generator. The second tool is named mesh and calm. These tools work in a similar way.
